Michael J. Kolta was dubbed "Flex" in high school due to his perpetual habit of lifting weights. F.L.E.X has become his pseudonym, standing for Fight for Life in the End times ('X' symbolizes 'times' as in multiplication). He grew up in New York and has a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
